I am new here, I have downloaded BOINC but I do not know what to do next. I believe it is downloading projects but how do I do that?
Your computer already has Primegrid setup and is downloading tasks automatically, so strictly speaking, you don't "need" to do anything.
But if you want, you can do things to make your life better. The first suggestion is to go into BOINC's advanced view and go into Options -> Computing Preferences. There, set both "Store at least" and "Store up to an additional" fields to 0 to make it so that you don't download extra tasks. You may also want to adjust the "use at most % of CPUs" (always leave the "CPU times" one at 100%) to control the number of CPU cores boinc uses, which can be handy given you have a mobile CPU that probably doesn't have adequate cooling.
You might also want to change your subproject of choice. The default is PPS Sieve (CPU), but there are plenty of other options which you can pick from your account preferences on the website. You may read through what all of them do and pick one that you like, or go hunting for badges in all of them like most of us do. Just keep in mind that anything that says "LLR" is basically the same as running Prime95, which is very CPU intensive and can potentially cause your laptop to overheat if you don't have the cooling for it, so keep an eye out for that.
Speaking of subprojects, you CAN your nvidia graphics card to do work if you want. Some chose not to, either for the aforementioned cooling issues, or because using the card can cause screen lag in some instances, so it's up to you if you want to test it or leave it idle.
