I completed a Genefer WR task that took about 400 hours of CPU time to complete and got 110K credit. I also completed a SoB task and got about 56K credit, also taking about 400 hours of CPU time. Why did I get about half the credit?

The applications are very different, plus the numbers you are crunching are largely different.

SOB would hit about #6 of the top Primes found, WR would be pretty far over the top. 6th spot is over 9 million digits, WR is going to be somewhere over 18 million digits.

So, as you can see there is a huge difference in the numbers. I am not the best at explaining the difference in the programs, but I know GFN does have a lot more optimizations than the LLR does.

Yeah I was noticing this too.

I get considerably more credit on Genefer CPU per unit of CPU time than SoB.

But been crunching SoB for a long time on the original client and now here (11 years or so) and this is a pet project for me. Finding gigantic prime numbers for vanity is great and all but I want to see that conjecture verified.

Reduced credit certainly doesnt exactly motivate people to crunch such long tasks though.
