I have returned to grid computing as I have now retired, biz travel is done, the kids have left home, the old family home is sold, and I have tired of gaming, except for some play with the grandkids.

Two of my older laptops have been returned to crunch primes, and a third new desktop will be enlisted soon. One laptop has returned to exactly where it left off. The other laptop has been reformated and renamed, and is identified as a separate computer. I know I can merge the data from these two machines, but should I? What are the advantages and disadvantages of keeping this data separate?

Thanks for your kind reply.

It's really entirely up to you. The difference is whether that host takes up one or two rows in the host table. That doesn't matter to us. If you wanted to be able to see how much you'd crunched in the past, leave them separate. If it doesn't matter, I'd personally combine them just to make your host list a little less crowded.
