I've been receiving Seventeen or Bust version 6.13 tasks on my machine for quite a while and 6.XX tasks before that if I remember correctly.
Today I got a version 1.01 task:
http://www.primegrid.com/workunit.php?wuid=275774789
The others who've had this workunit have received 6.13 and 6.14's.
Any reason I got a 1.01? And what's the difference?
Thanks,
Jay |

I'd say so -- check the time this task took to complete. |

Stock clock, ht on/off? 5-6 days, pretty impressive. |

Applications page for SoB v1.01 states "Microsoft Windows running on an AMD x86_64 or Intel EM64T CPU".
Anyone know if this version has AMD Bulldozer AVX support? I don't have a Bulldozer, just interested as I have socket AM3+.
Do these builds have release notes, (or comments in the code)? Applications page could link off to notes about the new version.

None of these versions (llr and pfgw too) has AVX support for Bulldozers. Its planned for AVX2 in the future. |

3.5 GHz, HT on.
Didn't realize there was an AVX app until I noticed how fast the ones on AVX-capable processors were running. I was suitably impressed. |

Sadly, I don't have my 2500k @ 4.5 anymore. :(
4 days should be achievable. |

As support for AVX instructions resulted in such faster times, has anyone suggested further improvement possibilities with AVX2 which is expected next year? I'm not familiar enough with the math or the instruction sets to understand if this expansion to AVX will impact the llr processing.
Thanks. |
