Yes, it does.
You can set interval in BOINC Manager Tools/Computer preferences/Disk and memory usage.
And you can watch when checkpoiting happens using BOINCTasks for example.

Depends what you mean by checkpoint. If you are talking like CPDN where it sends back data to the server to tell it that it's run a certain amount, no. You do not get partial work or credits for this. If it dies 1 hour before finish you lose it all. Since this is to find out if a number is prime or not, partial work doesn't cut it.
So if that's what you were looking for, sorry but it's not feasible.

Sounds like http://www.boinc-wiki.info/Trickle_Message but PR doesn't use it.

Yes, it is.
It reminds me when we talked in Oxford with Carl Christensen and David Anderson years ago about trickles and other new features in BOINC.
In early days, BOINC was significantly influenced by needs of SETI. Several features (including trickles and I think wrappers as well) were invented/implemented for CPDN.
Actually, I started BOINC on CPDN, not SETI as many others.
Now it seems a long time ago...

Yes, I was asking about checkpoint, not trickle. Completely different things. Thanks!
