I noticed one of my WU 114368026 crashed due to "Out Of Memory". Yet the system has 12GB but 12 hyperthreads - running other primegrid subprojects (one more core for the challenge!). Another wingman with Windows for that WU also crashed for the same reason. I don't have a good sample, but perhaps some of the other WU's by other users appear to fail for the same reason. I have run SOBs under Linux with 8 cores and 8 GB memory.

Is there a minimum amount of 'free' memory required to handle SOB WUs under Windows?
Or is this a Windows bug?

I have the same problem on The Riesel Problem (Sieve). 24GB physical RAM, 16 cores running, and roughly 50% of the memory used.

I noticed that under preferences, it said use only 50% memory when the computer is in use. I changed that to 90%, but still the same problem. I did not restart BOINC after changing, but I did so right now, and will get back to you if that helped :)

Restart of the client, had no effect, it still gets this error :(

Probably nothing to worry about. The result that's still in progress has been crunching for two weeks and hasn't errored out yet.

I've seen perfectly good SoB WUs go to 10+ results before finding 2 computers that will complete them. The length of the WUs seems to weed out computers with less than perfect stability.

Since it's the same LLR program as the other sub projects, it really makes you wonder about the validity of the results. Good think they're double checked.
