Problems and Help :
"Suspended - user request" on every task i try to start

Every time I go to Preferences and select a new task, it updates in the BOINC manager and downloads and all that, but when it fully downloads, it instantly says "Suspended - user request" without me touching anything and it doesn't run. Why is it doing this?

This likely means you hit the "Suspend" button in the BOINC manager. In simple view, there should be a button that says "Resume" on the bottom in the middle. In advanced view, go to "Activity" > "Run based on preferences". This should get you running.

It's possibly the setting of "Run only when idle", which means you have to NOT be on the PC when it's running.
In advanced view, go to options, computing prefs, and click on computing prefs
Then in the section section "When to Use", uncheck the second option "suspend when computer is in use"
That was what I did to solve this problem when I first downloaded BOINC (not long ago)

That's a different message, it'd be "Suspended - Computer in use" if it were the case. Unless you use the computer exclusively for BOINC, I suggest keeping "Suspend when computer is in use" enabled.

I suggest you do what Reggie said, and leave the computer idle for a few minutes, tasks should start running.
