Could you check the Recent average CPU times for PPS(LLR) and PPSE(LLR)? I would expect them to be in the opposite order.

What times do you see? I see, right now, 1:43:24 for PPS and 22:14 (which is really 00:22:14) for PPSE, which is not only in the correct order, but those numbers seem to be completely reasonable for those tasks. Don't forgot the "extended" in PPSE refers to 'k', not the run-time, and PPSE tasks are the shorter tasks.

Are you seeing different times? If so, perhaps hitting F5 might fix it.

Perhaps we need to look at the naming, I find it quite natural for people to expect something that is extended to be longer than the standard version!

To explain how the slightly odd situation has arisen I will point out the "extended" applies to the k value, as the extended k testing starts from a lower n value it is faster at present, as the years go by the difference will shrink and maybe disapear or reverse.

Nothing here on PG is ever as simple as it looks at first glance.

I agree, but not all of the names we use originate with us. Some other names that might be confusing:

SoB. It's not a curse. Nor is it searching numbers than contain a '17' somewhere in them.

GFN-Short: It's the second longest CPU-project we have, just a smidgeon faster than SoB. At some point in the next few years it will certainly overtake SoB. Maybe we should call it "GFN-LONG-BUT-NOT-NEARLY-AS-LONG-AS-THAT-OTHER-GFN"? (This name we can't blame on anyone else.)

ESP: Here we go again with "extended". Not only does ESP have shorter tasks than the other two base 2 Sierpinski conjectures, but it doesn't actually extend either problem; it sits in between the two! YASP? (Yet Another Sierpinski Problem.)

Seriously, though, I agree that it's sufficiently confusing to warrant making it clearer that PPSE is shorter than PPS. It is counter-intuitive.
