My computer usually takes about 30 hours to complete Woodall WUs and they used to run fine. But recently (after the 321-challenge) I experience multiple WUs cancelled by server. Which is especially annoying if my computer already spent 20 hours of computation time on that WU and then received no credits.

Now I discovered, that the initial replicant number is 4 (whereas there is a quorum of 2). Was that number changed? I do not remember any cancelled-by-server WUs before the challenge (this has probably nothing to do with the challenge, just consider it as a date reference).

Take a look at that:
http://primegrid.com/result.php?resultid=88475367
My task was cancelled before completion (although 20 hours/60% already finished/wasted) and another task of another user was cancelled after completion (outcome: success, but invalid).

Is this how it is intended to be? I only connect to the internet in the evenings and run a second project in parallel. So I need 48 or 96 hours to return a result. Plenty of time for 24/7-servers to return their result and invalidate my computation time.

Here is another one with a different problem.

The number of initial replicants is 2 (hence that number was changed from 2 to 4 recently) and the second successful result was probably reported 4 days after deadline (as this is the time, when my new task was created).

My computer usually takes about 30 hours to complete Woodall WUs and they used to run fine. But recently (after the 321-challenge) I experience multiple WUs cancelled by server. Which is especially annoying if my computer already spent 20 hours of computation time on that WU and then received no credits.

BOINC will almost never cancel a WU in progress. EXCEPTION: The client has not contacted the server AND the WU is past its deadline AND the quorum has been met AND there's no more record of it in the database. As you can see, it would be a very rare event...and credit would not have been issued anyway.

Now I discovered, that the initial replicant number is 4 (whereas there is a quorum of 2). Was that number changed? I do not remember any cancelled-by-server WUs before the challenge (this has probably nothing to do with the challenge, just consider it as a date reference).

Initial replication is 2. This number is increased each time an additional WU is needed. I know, it doesn't make sense to keep calling it initial replication...but that's what BOINC does.

Take a look at that:
http://primegrid.com/result.php?resultid=88475367
My task was cancelled before completion (although 20 hours/60% already finished/wasted) and another task of another user was cancelled after completion (outcome: success, but invalid).

The link provided points to a WU that was not processed. Therefore, it was canceled before the host started working on it. It must have been another WU on the host that was crunching and at 60% that probably went to completion but it didn't get canceled.

Here is another one with a different problem.
http://primegrid.com/workunit.php?wuid=46636781
The number of initial replicants is 2 (hence that number was changed from 2 to 4 recently) and the second successful result was probably reported 4 days after deadline (as this is the time, when my new task was created).

This WU is the perfect example of a why you would see a Redundant result and why it was canceled. The WU 85980069 was past its deadline and had not contacted the server. Your WU 88199253 was then issued. However, before your host started working on the WU, the past due WU came in and completed the quorum. Therefore, your WU was no longer needed and thus canceled. If your host had been processing it, it would not have been canceled but allowed to complete and all three hosts would have received credit resulting in the possible but infrequent triple check.

I think that something similar happened to one of my WUs; I was at 23 hours, and received a message about the server canceling the WU. The WU had already reached quorum, so I understand why this would occur - no need to triple check. However, the deadline wasn't until the 22nd, and I'm just wondering how something like that happens if I will still legitimately in the middle of the WU? I don't have the link any more; the task has been removed entirely from my task list.
