The Prime Sierpinski Project has a goal of completing all LLR candidates below 6M by the end of 2008. We can do our part by completing the work we have reserved.

Currently, we have ~3300 WU's reserved. In order to complete this, we need to increase our through put by 2X's which is currently only ~25WU's a day...so we need 50 WU's a day.

PSP LLR WU's are quite long. They can range from ~25 hours to 60+ hours depending on the CPU.

This is more of "for your information" than a request. If you're interested in helping out, please do. If not, that's perfectly fine as well. As always, we encourage users to put their 64 bit machines on sieving projects as this is where they have the most impact. However, 32 bit machines good anywhere.

I would do more of these, but I notice that Cullens and these PSP's on one of my computers take about the same time, yet I get about 600 points less from PSP's then Cullens for credit. So until that gets even I'll stick with cullens or when my new computer comes in 2 weeks I might have that start with PSP's.

Making PSP LLR work under Linux would have helped to reach this goal.
(Same applies to Cullen - I do very very few of these due to the windows only limitation).

Yes, these will be goals in the upcoming year...to make sure all LLR projects have both Linux and Windows apps.

As for the PSP Goal for this year, PG has done its part. We submitted 10370 WU's yesterday. We currently are doing work in the 6M+ range. However, as of this post, we still have 108 WU's outstanding under 6M. There's not much we can do about them as they are already out for completion. They will just have to work their way through the system.

Great news.

And on that note, I've got one of those remaining PSP LLR WUs ticking - should be done by year end :-)

Question, Since Cullen's and PSP LLR's take about the same time to complete yet the PSP LLR is way under credited. Any chance of making it a little higher to so it matches the same as the Cullen which again takes the same amount of time with double or tripple the credit then the PSP LLR??

I was recently asked to respond to this post so as to dispel the misinformation provided.

Reviewing the past 7 days of data, the following averages can be observed:

Cul @ ~7.2M; ~47 hr for ~1221 cobblestones
PSP @ ~8.6M; ~60 hr for ~1433 cobblestones

This is well within the acceptable variance. The only thing I can think John M. Johnson "Novex" might have been comparing was CW Sieve to PSP LLR. In that case, credit is roughly 2x's more for CW Sieve as a direct result of the 64 bit vs. 32 bit processing.

I hope this clears everything up. :)
